This unprecedented time has been remarkably difficult for everyone; the hardest effect has been the inability to build relationships in-person like we love to do. But this time has also presented amazing opportunities for growth and innovative community outreach, and we’re determined to do all we can for our community, no matter what circumstances arise.
Since we’ve adjusted our community programs for COVID-19 over the last few months, we’ve come to recognize what support is most beneficial for the growing needs of our community. It’s because of the incredible people that support Ciudad Nueva that we’re able to continue our community outreach during this time, and we’re truly grateful for this continued opportunity. Here are some of the updates to our needs and the needs of our community during this time:
Prayer
This is one of the biggest ways you can support Ciudad Nueva right now! Please pray for our community, our volunteers, and our team members to have the wisdom, strength, and endurance to continue to thrive in our current situation. Please pray that our relationships will continue to grow even though we can’t connect in the ways we used to do pre-pandemic.
Financial Assistance
We know that financial strain is one of the largest impacts this virus has caused, so we want to be careful in asking for financial support. We just want you to know that every dollar you donate is used for real change — no amount is too small to make a difference! Even if $10/month is all you can do, that $10 goes a long way in providing the El Paso community with food, essential supplies, and support.
Food
Food donations go a long way in taking care of our community and allowing us to bless other organizations in the community, like homeless shelters. Produce and non-perishable items are always needed to continue our food deliveries to El Paso’s community members.
Connections
Even if you don’t have money to donate or food to give, connections can often be a really viable way to support Ciudad Nueva! For instance, we were able to collect and deliver over 200 gallons of milk to families across El Paso because one donor had connections with a local church who was looking to give it to those in need.
Skills
If you have a specific skill in areas like construction, electrical work, or really anything you can think of, we could use your skills to bless community members! If you can’t think of any skills you’d like to offer but need help brainstorming, we’d be incredibly grateful to help you find a place to use your unique skill set to serve our community.
If one or all of these support avenues sticks out to you, we would love to connect with you and allow you to bless our community! Call us today at 915-521-2951 or contact us online.
