Art and the Environment: Middle School Students Create and Connect
The eight-week middle school creative class culminates in a third-place win for one of our creative middle school students. Ciudad Nueva’s middle school students are invited to participate in a creative class every Tuesday afternoon. The class changes about every eight weeks with many different topics explored including cooking, sports, technology, and any other great ideas we think the students would enjoy. Karina’s Journey to College Takes Her All the Way to Rhode Island
Karina grew up in the Rio Grande neighborhood and has been a part of the Ciudad Nueva youth programs since she was in third grade. High school graduation and a vision for their lives beyond opens up a world of possibility to high school students at Ciudad Nueva "My favorite part about the Catalyst trip was seeing all of my college options. Grown Up and Going Back to Camp
Gustavo was once a camper. Now he is a camp counselor. Something good keeps him coming back. Gustavo grew up in the Ciudad Nueva youth programs and throughout those years, summer was an annual highlight for him. He looked forward every year to new adventures, new friends, and deeper relationships with current leaders and friends. As a leader now in Ciudad Nueva’s youth programs, he is excited to go back to camp and share his experience with the young people he works with.
