Ciudad Nueva relies on faithful and committed volunteers in El Paso who enjoy participating in programs with our youth and families from the Rio Grande neighborhood.
We believe there is space for everyone to serve at Ciudad Nueva, and below you can find information about the volunteer needs for each of our programs that are divided by age group or a specific need.
Youth Programs
When: Tuesdays & Thursdays from 3:30-5:30PM
Commitment: 2-4 hours; one-two days a week; 2 semesters
Location: Launch Pad building, 504 E. Yandell, El Paso, TX 79902
Responsibilities: Build relationships as a mentor with elementary students through academic support, social-emotional growth, help distribute snacks, assist with clean up, engage in games and team building activities, art projects, and some off-site trips, provide some clerical work for program upkeep. When: Mondays and Wednesdays: 3:00pm-5:30pm
Commitment: One to two days per week for 2 hours; 2 semesters
Location: 528 E. Yandell, El Paso, TX 79902
Responsibilities: Build relationships as a mentor with middle school students through academic support, social-emotional growth, help facilitate small group discussion for spiritual growth, plan and participate in games and activities with students. Start application today!
When: Tuesdays & Thursdays from 6-8:30PM
Commitment: One day per week for 2 hours; 1 or 2 semesters
Location: 528 E. Yandell, El Paso, TX 79902
Responsibilities: Build relationships as a mentor with high school students through academic support, social-emotional growth, help facilitate small group discussion for emotional and/or spiritual development curriculum, and participate in games/activities with students. No volunteer positions available at this time
When: Thursdays 6-8:30PM
Commitment: 1 day/week; 2 semesters
Location: 528 E. Yandell, El Paso, TX 79902
Responsibilities: With a team, build professional relationships with our high school students through support as they are preparing for college and/or vocational next steps, and speak on a particular life skill or career topic if available. No volunteer positions available at this time
Adult Programs
When: Thursdays from 11:30-1:30pm
Commitment: 2 hours per week for 10 weeks
Location: 528 E. Yandell, El Paso, TX 79902
Responsibilities: With a team, build relationships with participants and prepare for setting up and cleaning up before and after each art class, assist participants in their art projects. Start application today!
When: Tuesdays 2-3pm and Thursdays 1-2pm
Commitment: 3-5 hours per week for 10 weeks
Location: 528 E. Yandell, El Paso, TX 79902 (Located in the back of the CN building)
Responsibilities: With a team, prepare boxes of donated food for families in the neighborhood, assist in picking up food donations from vendors in the El Paso area, engage with families and participants, assist with cleaning up after food co-op. Start application today!
When: Tuesdays 2-3pm and Thursdays 1-2pm
Commitment: 2-3 hours per week for 10 weeks
Location: 528 E. Yandell, El Paso, TX 79902 (Located in the back of the CN building)
Responsibilities: Sort and organize donations for the Tiendita (Little Store), assist community participants with selecting and purchasing items, engage with participants. Start application today!

Commitment: 2 – 4 hours per week for 10 weeks

Responsibilities: With a team, build relationships with our elderly neighbors in the Rio Grande neighborhood through providing transportation assistance to medical visits, grocery shopping, and program participation, visit elderly neighbors in their homes or off-site activities; assist with connecting them to outside resources when necessary. - To become a volunteer with Ciudad Nueva, each person must submit a volunteer application including references, complete a background check and complete volunteer training
- Being bilingual in Spanish is a plus but not necessary
