Ciudad Nueva relies on faithful community partners for support, and we are thankful to have had that opportunity with NovoTex Mayoreo and Black Fridays Daily Discount Store for the last several years. Not only have NovoTex Mayoreo and Black Fridays Daily Discount Store been serving the El Paso community for some time as a wholesale clothing, shoe, and houseware distributor, they have also been dedicated partners with Ciudad Nueva.
How The Partnership Started
David and Jen Kaufmann are the owners of NovoTex Mayoreo and Black Fridays Daily Discount Store and their partnership with Ciudad Nueva began when they started volunteering with Ciudad Nueva. David coached a youth soccer team for the organization ten years ago while Jen Kaufmann served as a coordinator for Launchpad, Ciudad Nueva’s elementary school program.
As long time members of the community, the Kaufmanns have demonstrated passion for seeing the Rio Grande neighborhood thrive and believe that Ciudad Nueva is an organization that is helping to make that a reality. “After being in the community for so long, we see the fruit, that kids’ lives are in a better place and are positively impacted by the deep investment that Ciudad Nueva has made in their lives and in their community.”
NovoTex Brings The Fun to Fundraisers
NovoTex and Black Fridays have contributed their time and resources to provide creative fundraising opportunities for Ciudad Nueva. A fundraiser that CN supporters and families look forward to each year in the Spring and Fall is the NovoTex Clothing & Houseware fundraiser. It is a two day event that allows for a fun way for people to come together and buy name brand clothing and household items from their distribution warehouse at a great price for a great cause.
Shoppers get a blend of celebration and shopping where there is music, food and a chance for people to come out and hear about the great things that are occurring in the neighborhood. All proceeds from the fundraiser go directly towards Ciudad Nueva programming.
NovoTex and Black Friday’s generosity has extended to El Paso Giving Day where they have seen an opportunity to share their business’ blessings and want to see Ciudad Nueva “fulfill its message and contribute to be a vibrant part of the community,” and continue to move towards a thriving successful future.
I lived in the neighborhood for many years, and I know so many people connected to Ciudad Nueva. I believe in the mission and vision of the organization. I love the approach of Ciudad Nueva -that they connect with kids and their families. I love the approach of working in the neighborhoods, and that the goal is for the people of the neighborhood to lead.
