The Selfless Giving of our Community
As the end of this unique year approaches, we are reflecting on the generosity of our supporters. Those who chose to donate to Ciudad Nueva in 2020, no matter what amount, have made an incredible impact on our community. God can use your prayers, volunteer work, and donations — even donations of $10 a month — to accomplish His good work here in El Paso.
People who support Ciudad Nueva through prayer, service, or donations are people who invest in our local community. We are so thankful for those who have given through these times of financial hardship. A little truly goes a long way in our ministry. We’ve been able to leverage these donations to help others during these difficult circumstances.
Our supporters are people like parents, students, essential workers, nurses, policemen, landscapers, entrepreneurs, custodians, teachers, and those who stay home. We know that these generous givers have been rewarded this year by knowing they’re making a real difference. They can see the results of our work in their community. Through this selfless support, our neighbors in need see the difference between isolation and connection. They feel seen and loved, held close through our outreach programs.

God’s Good Work
Many people have shown selfless generosity by choosing to donate to Ciudad Nueva in 2020. We are incredibly humbled and thankful for the work that God has done with these resources this year. Despite a national pandemic and having to change the format and delivery of our services, we have been able to connect with our community in so many ways! Our services this year have included:
- Continuing our community connections through virtual and porch/front door outreach.
- Supporting our students through virtual after-school programs, get-togethers porch check-ins and safe outdoor activity.
- Checking in on vulnerable members of our community weekly to connect them with needed resources as well as offer emotional support.
- Providing food boxes to the community through curbside pick-up.
- Collaborating with food banks and shelters to allocate and distribute donations.
- Encouraging our youth to engage in creative activities by delivering craft supplies and food to their homes.
- Celebrating our children’s graduation from our program via a drive-by parade.
- Fostering a safe, organized space for youth to do their virtual learning through our Learning Pods.
- Extensive planning to continue supporting the community next year, including extending our services to the elderly.
- Providing affordable, socially-distanced Christmas shopping options for local parents.
This list doesn’t even cover all that we were able to do in 2020 with your help!
Every Gift Makes an Impact
Our hearts are filled with awe and thankfulness to all of our donors, prayer-warriors, and volunteers who have made all of this possible. We know that people are financially strained this year. Even through the difficulties that the pandemic has brought to all of us, we have been amazed at how we continue to come together to make this ministry possible.

The gift of prayer is another vitally important way you can support our mission. Moving forward into the next year, we are in dire need of guidance, wisdom and discernment. We’ve had to make difficult decisions this year, including moving many of our services to virtual. Please continue to pray for direction and to help us meet the needs of our community.
Finally, you could bless us through the gift of your talents. If you are a handyman and have specific skills to offer, like electrical, wiring, plumbing, or other essential talents, we could always use your help! Volunteers with unique skills like these, and many others, help keep our office and community outreach running.
