Part of the Family Tamy has been involved with Ciudad Nueva for the past 15 years. Her children started attending our programs when they were little, and two of them are still involved. At Ciudad Nueva, our team is full of compassionate, understanding people. Keisha Branch, our High School Coordinator, displays a perfect example of the warmth and care we feel for our community. Keisha left her hometown in Virginia to join our Border Fellows program in 2016, after completing a study abroad program at a youth refugee center in Ireland. In our post from earlier this month, we shared about a new initiative called Abara that grew out of the work Ciudad Nueva has been doing on the U.S.–Mexico border over the past several years. The U.S. city of El Paso and the Mexican city of Ciudad Juárez might lay on opposite sides of the U.S.–Mexico border, but the two cities have long considered themselves to be a tightly connected community.
