Lexi Moles: A Student of Community. Lexi Shares her Story as she Prepares to Step Down from Ciudad Nueva
We will be saying goodbye to our wonderful Office Assistant, Lexi Moles, in February! Lexi has been a blessing to Ciudad Nueva for three years. In a recent interview, Lexi shared what she learned from working here and how she will carry on the spirit of Ciudad Nueva. Born in Colorado and raised in Virginia, Lexi earned her Bachelor’s in Social Work in Harrisonburg and became a Border Fellow in 2017. Ciudad Nueva’s Action Plan to Provide Services to Our Elderly Community Members
Caring for the elderly population of our community has long been a passion and goal of Ciudad Nueva. This year especially, our elderly neighbors need special attention and assistance due to the pandemic. We are eager to launch Ciudad Nueva’s elderly services, projected to begin next year! Before our services had to change due to COVID-19, we offered Art Therapy classes to our elderly community members. Ciudad Nueva’s Upward Soccer League Expands to Include Middle School Teams This Fall
When Ciudad Nueva brought a youth soccer league to the Rio Grande neighborhood last fall, only one thing was missing: a middle school division. Ciudad Nueva decided to limit the league to kindergarten through fifth grade during its inaugural year, but league director Bruce Meyer plans to expand the league to include teams for middle schoolers this fall.
