Tamy Diaz is our multi-talented Launchpad Coordinator and Community Connector, and we have the honor of spotlighting her talents! Part of the Family Tamy has been involved with Ciudad Nueva for the past 15 years. Her children started attending our programs when they were little, and two of them are still involved. She shared that for her kids, “Ciudad Nueva is their second home.” As her kids grew-up in programming, she became more and more intrigued and drawn into Ciudad Nueva’s mission. At the time, she was working as a housekeeper, putting every dollar toward rent and bread on the … [Read more...]
Trims and Trust – Keisha Branch is Making a Difference in El Paso and Beyond
At Ciudad Nueva, our team is full of compassionate, understanding people. Keisha Branch, our High School Coordinator, displays a perfect example of the warmth and care we feel for our community. Our Team Pays Tribute to Joe Gavaldon, a Long-Time Volunteer, as He Retires

Several members of our staff shared memories they made with Joe over the years. He touched many lives through his time at Ciudad Nueva and spent countless hours being our handyman, supply stocker, and mentor. When … [Read more...]
Empowering Leaders Through Border Fellows
“I have greatly enjoyed connecting to the community and understanding the role of Ciudad Nueva in the greater context of El Paso as a borderland city,” shared Sophie Wozniak, a current Border Fellow. Sophie is one of several recent college graduates participating in the Border Fellows program to learn the ins and outs of what it means to live, serve, and lead in a border community. Here at Ciudad Nueva, a key part of our mission is equipping leaders who will help carry on God’s work in our neighborhoods to help communities thrive. In addition to mentoring and empowering local youth, … [Read more...]
