Young students in our community have been faced with a lot of change and uncertainty this year. We want our youth to be informed about the many important events that have happened in recent months. Most importantly, kids need to learn about how these events will impact them, how they can protect themselves, and how they can really make a difference. Ciudad Nueva’s Action Plan to Provide Services to Our Elderly Community Members
Caring for the elderly population of our community has long been a passion and goal of Ciudad Nueva. This year especially, our elderly neighbors need special attention and assistance due to the pandemic. We are eager to launch Ciudad Nueva’s elderly services, projected to begin next year! Before our services had to change due to COVID-19, we offered Art Therapy classes to our elderly community members. “You Never Retire From Ministry”—Joe Gavaldon’s Reflection on His Work at Ciudad Nueva
At Ciudad Nueva, we have seen God accomplish his work through the ministry of our beloved Family Outreach Director, Joe Gavaldon. He retired from his role here at our agency, but we know that God’s work through him is just beginning. God’s Calling In 2009, Joe first felt God’s calling on his life to work in ministry. He worked with Young Life, a community ministry that guides young people to know Christ. While it was hard for him to leave, he felt God’s hand guiding him to work with students full-time.
