Community involvement is part of the strong, meaningful foundation Ciudad Nueva is built on. We are passionate about human connection. Seeing our neighbors volunteer and serve each other fills us with joy. Throughout the last year, creating a safe co-op has been especially challenging. Sophie Wozniak is our incredible Administrative Assistant and co-leader of our High School program! She began volunteering at Ciudad Nueva in 2019 as she completed her Border Fellow program. In Northern Virginia, she earned her Bachelor’s degree and wrote her thesis on border security and U.S./Mexico collaboration. She worked at summer camps and enjoyed her work with children. Lexi Moles: A Student of Community. Lexi Shares her Story as she Prepares to Step Down from Ciudad Nueva
We will be saying goodbye to our wonderful Office Assistant, Lexi Moles, in February! Lexi has been a blessing to Ciudad Nueva for three years. In a recent interview, Lexi shared what she learned from working here and how she will carry on the spirit of Ciudad Nueva. Born in Colorado and raised in Virginia, Lexi earned her Bachelor’s in Social Work in Harrisonburg and became a Border Fellow in 2017.
